Subway station Braunschweiggasse Vienna

fe/male presents works by eleven female photographers from Europe and the USA who explore the borderline between masculinity and femininity.
The portraits and enactments show possible strategies for breaking this traditional polarity. The in-between area can be experienced as a broad field of concepts of identity that play with conventions and the crossing of boundaries with relish.
The exhibition project moves out of specific art spaces into public space and presents the photographs as large-format posters in a Vienna subway station.
